Αξιότιμες και αξιότιμοι,

Διοργανώνεται από το Πανεπιστήμιο Sapienza της Ρώμης, ισότιμο μέλος της κοινοπραξίας του Ευρωπαϊκού Πανεπιστημίου του CIVIS, υβριδικό σεμινάριο-συμπόσιο με θεματική: “Η Διατροφή” ("The Food"), που είναι ανοιχτό για τους Kαθηγητές αλλά και τους φοιτητές από τα άλλα Πανεπιστήμια-μέλη του CIVIS.

H εν λόγω εκδήλωση θα λάβει χώρα την Παρασκευή 8 Ιουλίου 2022, και ώρες 10:30 π.μ.- 14:45 μ.μ. (ώρα Ελλάδος)  στο πλαίσιο του διεπιστημονικού μαθήματος της Σχολής Προηγμένων Σπουδών (School for Advanced Studies) του Παν/μιου Sapienza με τίτλο: "Η Διατροφή" ("The Food"). Συγκεκριμένα, το συμπόσιο θα διεξαχθεί με δια ζώσης παρουσία στην αίθουσα Aula Magna της Πρυτανείας του Πανεπιστημίου Sapienza, αλλά και διαδικτυακά με δυνατότητα εξ αποστάσεως παρακολούθησης και livestreaming. Η εκδήλωση και οι διαλέξεις θα διαρθρωθούν επάνω στις εξής τρεις επιμέρους θεματικές: "Κοινωνία και ταυτότητα", "Πολυπλοκότητα και αλληλεξαρτήσεις", "Μεταβλητότητα και ποικιλομορφία"("Society and identity", Complexity and Interdependencies", "Variability and Diversity").

"The Sapienza School for Advanced Studies, which was established in 2011 and is organized in four academic classes (Legal, Political, Εconomic and social sciences, Life sciences, Science and technology, Humanities), selects the best students of Sapienza (roughly 100 over 100.000 total students), who attend university courses and activities that encourage and develop their talents and skills through scientific, cultural and interdisciplinary activities. Visiting professors, prominent Sapienza faculty members and renowned foreign academics are involved in the programme as SSAS fellows. Every year we organize a Symposium involving all the SSAS students and fellows, together with the governance of Sapienza. This year the event will focus on the topic developed within our yearly interdisciplinary course, "The Food". During the Symposium, three worldwide Top Scientists will deliver keynote lectures of 30 minutes, scheduled in the programme together with student presentations. We prepared this event as a very dynamic initiative, strengthened by the interaction between students, fellows and invited Speakers.
A Colloquium on Food
The wide topic of Food can be investigated from multi-disciplinary points of view. We propose three of them:
- SOCIETY AND IDENTIΤY - the role of food in the relationship between individual and society: how the food can contribute to define a group of people (e.g. at national level and/or ethical level), how a person can be associated to a group of people according to her/his food choices
- COMPLEXITY AND INTERDEPENDENCIES - the complexity and interdependencies related to the world of food: how food systems have significantly increased in complexity and generated stronger and stronger interdependencies at worldwide level since the mid-twentieth century, due to some different factors and innovations (e.g. mechanization, genetic modification, globalization of supply chains)
- VARIABILITY AND DIVERSITY - how food diversity and variability are affected by and reflected on practices associated with the food industry, how they are important resources for moving towards a more sustainable planet and the Colloquium goal is twofold, both to reflect on them and to propose additional points of view to be discussed".
